A new year is coming up, and it’s time to take a look at the best concerts in 2015.
It’s been an incredible year for music in general (and also some losses, R.I.P. Lemmy and Phil), and this is also true for the live aspect of it. There’s so much going on in Oslo right now, I guess you could attend at least two metal related gigs a week if you want to, and it’s quite hard to catch them all (Catch’em All, that would really be something of a title!). That’s a good thing of course, but it becomes a problem when you have to choose between two or even more great acts playing the very same day.
So, what’s happened this year? I went to New York and the Defenders of the Old festival and Inferno Festival in Oslo in March, Göteborg Rockfest in April, Sweden Rock Festival and Tons of Rock in June, Beyond the Gates in August, and a lot of concerts in between. So much fun and so many brilliant concerts.
With so many great gigs, it’s difficult to just pick out ten, but I’ll give it a try:
- Ghost, Sweden Rock
- Twisted Sister, Tons of Rock
- High Spirits, Defenders of the Old
- Horisont, Vulkan arena, Oslo
- Inculter, Pokalen, Oslo
- Black Magic, Til Dovre Faller
- Enforcer, Göteborg Rockfest
- Jex Thoth, Blå
- Morbus Chron, Beyond the Gates
- Mad Max, Sweden Rock
